The Beryllium Proficiency Analytical Testing (BePAT) Program is an external quality assurance program for laboratories analyzing beryllium on filter media. The program is designed to assist laboratories in evaluating analytical performance.
Samples are shipped for analysis to participating laboratories on a tri-annual basis. Statistical analyses are performed on the resulting data.
The PAT Report. When you participate in BePAT, you will receive an evaluation report—the PAT Report—providing a snapshot of your laboratory’s performance compared to your peers. Sharing your PAT Report with customers and prospects will make them confident about partnering with your laboratory.
The BePAT Program is specifically recommended for laboratories analyzing samples for the Department of Energy in accordance with the Chronic Beryllium Disease Prevention Program as specified in 10 CFR Part 850.24, Section (f) Periodic Exposure Monitoring, Analysis. However, participation is open to all laboratories*.
